The map on the left shows the area surrounding Tigh Ali, which is situated in the tiny hamlet of Ardaneaskan (mid-left region of the map). The scenic drive along the A890 towards Lochcarron is just a taster of what is to come.
An excellent base from which to explore Wester Ross, to the north are Applecross, Loch Torridon, Loch Maree and the famous gardens of Inverewe, to the south the magnificent scenery of Kintail and Glenelg.
Five miles along the shore of Loch Carron lies the attractive 18th century village of Lochcarron. It offers cafes & restaurants, shops, a Post Office, bank (cashpoint), garages and other facilities.
Forty five minutes away, at Kyle of Lochalsh is the new bridge to the Isle of Skye. The single Line railway, featured in 'Great Railway Journeys', runs from Inverness to Kyle passing through the local station of Strathcarron.
There is a good choice of eating places in and around Lochcarron, some specializing in seafood.

There is a service from London Kings X to Inverness once daily. Connecting West Highland line trains stop at Strathcarron station twice daily.
